If your licence is lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed, you must replace it immediately. It costs £20.

How to Apply

The fastest way is online via GOV.UK. You'll need:

• A valid UK passport or other ID
• Your National Insurance number (if known)
• Addresses where you've lived for the last 3 years

Can I Drive While Waiting?

Usually, yes. Under Section 88 of the Road Traffic Act, you can drive while your application is with the DVLA, provided your doctor hasn't told you not to, and you held a valid licence previously.

Stolen Licences
