Professional Driver License & CPC Licence: Complete Guide 2025

Professional driving (trucks, buses, coaches) requires more than just a standard licence. You need the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).

Initial Qualification

To become a qualified professional driver, you must pass 4 modules:

1. Theory test
2. Case studies
3. Practical driving ability
4. Practical demonstration (e.g., loading safely)

Periodic Training

To keep your Driver CPC card, you must complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years. There are no tests to pass for this training, but you must attend.
